Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Quest, Castlevania, Harry Potter, and Final Fantasy; are only some opuses deeply connected with the alchemical symbolism. But while in these the presence of alchemy plays a secondary role in the outcome of the story; there's a series in which it is the most important thing, obviously we're referring to the Atelier series!
The godmother of this long-life beloved alchemic JRPG series is Marie, the main protagonist of Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg. Released on May 23, 1997, for the first PlayStation; this title introduced to thousands of gamers all around the world the roots of alchemy as a means to create new items that could be sold to the people of Salburg, the capital city of the fantastic Schigsal Kingdom.

Helping her to improve her skills and abilities in the fine art of synthesizing; Marie could reach even more popularity and money that allow her to meet the most prestigious people of the whole kingdom making her workshop the #1 in the world. Atelier games have come a long way since then, and generations of new alchemists required our help to develop their laboratories throughout the world; we remember Iris, Khemia, Rorona, Totori, Meruru, Firis, Lulua, and last but not least Ryza!
Reisalin “Ryza” Stout is the main protagonist of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout for PS4 & NS; accordingly the official description, Ryza is "an ordinary girl whose unique characteristic is just that – ordinary. Ryza has a wild and tomboyish personality with a strong sense of justice. While she can be stubborn in her convictions, her heart is in the right place". Due to her courage and her extremely beautiful appearance, Ryza soon became one of the most popular alchemists ever appeared; in fact, the first episode sold over 500,000 copies worldwide, turning it into the most best-selling Atelier game.

Congratulations to Dead Cells! The game has sold 3.5 million units worldwide. Plus, it’s time to gear up as the second DLC is coming entitled Fatal Falls. It’s coming in Q1 2021 for $4.99. So, are you ready for this DLC?
Here’s the overview of Fatal Falls DLC below via Motion Twin per Gematsu.
Two entirely new biomes, The Fractured Shrines and The Undying Shores, as well as a new boss are parallels to the "Stilt Village," "Clock Tower," and "Time Keeper" areas and their alternate paths. These additions will provide significant new options for fans looking for middle-run exploration and are brimming with new ways to succumb to a terribly painful death. The update is also dropping a cache of new weapons, details of which will be revealed soon.

- Earth Defense Force: World Brothers is an upcoming voxel-style EDF spin-off from D3 Publisher and developers Sandlot and Yuke’s.
- The game launches in Japan on December 24 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

D3 Publisher and developers Sandlot and Yuke’s have confirmed an upcoming voxel-style Earth Defense Force spin-off game titled Earth Defense Force: World Brothers.
According to Siliconera, the game is set in a voxel blocky world which is a peaceful blocky world but something has caused this world to break into pieces. In this game, your mission is to take the scattered pieces of land as stages while helping the other members of Earth Defense Force. In addition, once you save a member, they will eventually join and fight by your side as a “Brother”.

A new battlefield appears in the EDF series. The setting is square Earth. It’s a voxel world where everything is made of squares, including the Earth itself.
