Final Fantasy XVI Update: Scenario Almost Complete, Voice Recording In Final Stage & More! Posted: 12 Jul 2021 12:24 AM PDT Final Fantasy XVI PlayStation 5 – US, EU, JP & ASIA On September 16 of last year, during the PS5 showcase, Square Enix confirmed the collaboration of two acclaimed developers for a big upcoming project. And they are none other than Dragon Quest creator Naoki Yoshida, and The Last Remnant developer, Hiroshi Takai, which are also both creators of Final Fantasy XIV. Now, both developers will again pour their hearts and souls into this brand new project — Final Fantasy XVI.  During its initial announcement, producer Naoki Yoshida stated that their next big reveal is scheduled for 2021.  So yes, it’s been quite some time since we’ve last heard of them.  Development update And now, as promised, producer Naoki Yoshida shared a little information about the game’s status. According to the producer, Final Fantasy XVI is going well, particularly in important aspects of the development stage.  Naoki happily shared that the scenario is almost done and that the voice recording for the English voice-overs is already in its final stage.  Here’s Yoshida’s statement about it:  We have all the scenarios set in stone already, and the voice recording for the English version is in its final stages. Development is going well. It's quite difficult to make sure the quality is amazing. Other details are yet to be announced at a later date. Yoshida explained that they’d rather announce another big thing until they’re satisfied with its quality than announcing more information today just for the sake of it.  We want the next announcement to be something where everyone watches and says 'I'm going to buy this game!' Thus, we are putting a lot of effort to make sure the quality is great. I want to show something at TGS, but I'm not sure if we will make that deadline.
