Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix
Nintendo Switch Ι Genre: Be the next Vocaloid Superstar
The Yamaha Sound Technology Development Center is a research lab that cooperates with several universities all around the world where composers and researchers work together on musical science to provide new techniques both in artistic and academic environments.
Normally their results are shared with the academic communities on a global scale through meetings, workshops, and public demonstrations. Thanks to them; everyone can learn all about the newest solutions on composition, psychoacoustics, data sonification, synthesis techniques, and many other fields of application. One of the most interesting ideas developed by this center is without any doubt the voice synthesizer software known as Vocaloid (VOCAL andrOID).
Developed twenty years ago by Hideki Kenmochi when he was a researcher in the Barcelona's Pompeu Fabra University (which is the only Spanish university among the top 150 in the world); this software allows a lot of aspiring artists to compose music in a brand new way. Giving them also the unique opportunity to sing the songs exploiting a hi-tech synthesized voice feature. To promote this new software in the most stylish way; Yamaha asked the help of various magazines, one above all Desktop Musician Magazine, to create some virtual singer. They could boost the sells not only among the music industry professional but also to all the aspiring wordsmiths who want to exploit their creations with the world.
They were CV01, CV02, and CV03, but probably you know them as Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin & Len, and Megurine Luka!
Developed under the Yamaha license by Crypton Future Media, Inc. since 2007; these three vocal character softs, increased the Vocaloid popularity so much, that now it is considered an actual musical genre. Hatsune Miku (which translation is "first sound of the future”) shape has been created by the Japanese illustrator KEI; with her blue hairs and black cyberpunk outfit, she has won the hearts of millions of people both in Japan and abroad becoming a huge pop-phenomenon which continues still today.
Feel the cyber-rhythm!
Appearing in dozens of media products like books, music albums, events, and video games; her impact reached also the stars when in 2010 the Japanese robotic spacecraft Akatsuki was launched to study the Venus' atmosphere equipped with three plates depicting Hatsune Miku. Obviously the more a character is popular, and the more games you may play, and Hatsune Miku makes no exception!
Available for Nintendo 3DS, PSP, PS Vita, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, iOS, and the arcade boards Sega RingEdge & Sega Nu. Hatsune Miku fans can count on 15 interactive incarnations; thanks to which they can have a wonderful time with their favorite Cyber superstar. But as you might have noticed, Nintendo Switch is missing from the list above, in case you are a Nintendo Switch user & a fan of good music you'll be happy to know that this Thursday Miku, Luka, Rin & Len, and all the other virtual superstars will make their first concert on the Nintendo stage with Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix!

In this new installment; you can sing a song with Miku and her friends with the classic Arcade Mode. But, if you are hungry for a real challenge try the Mix Mode.
