Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released in multiple parts. During E3 2019, Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase took the stage and discussed tidbits of information about the game. According to the producer, the massive content of the game, which is the first part, will be released on the official launch date, which will require two Blu-ray discs. However, the initial release of the game will still not cover the full Final Fantasy VII story.

Game Overview
For a brief overview, the upcoming game is a remake of the 1997 PlayStation title, Final Fantasy VII. The game follows the role of the mercenary Cloud Strife as he and eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE battle against the wicked Shinra megacorporation and the rogue former Shinra soldier Sephiroth. The gameplay is planned to combine real-time action and turn-based elements just like with Dissidia Final Fantasy.
The remake will only include the part of the story in Midgar, but according to Kitase, it will be a "fully standalone gaming experience." The producer added, "At that point, we decided we're going to focus this game on Midgar and what happened in Midgar," Kitase said. "And unfortunately, we can't say anything more about future games after that, because we don't know ourselves, really."

Octopath Traveler tells us the story of eight various travelers each with unique abilities. The game starts off with one protagonist. If you are reading our articles, you are surely a gamer (like all of us here at Playasia), but do you know when our favorite hobby was born? Well, all have started during the 70s; more precisely with the advent of Pong in 1972. Interested by this new form of entertainment, a couple of amusement machines' producers, Taito & Sega, created their own versions of Pong, starting the video game industry in Japan in 1973.
But it's only from the next year that Japanese publishers started to export their products worldwide. For example, Taito's Speed Race crossed the ocean to reach the arcades in America, and Europe while; at the same time the Nakamura Amusement Machine (a.k.a. Namco) begun to import from the US the video games developed by Atari.
Unfortunately, during those years, Japanese video games got modest success, but things started to change in 1978 with the release of Space Invaders. Coin by coin, this revolutionary game, conquered whole continents becoming the first big-hit of the newborn video game industry!
After this year, even more, companies jumped into this innovative business producing titles for the arcades, and new gaming systems that could recreate a totally immersive experience at home (at least in theory).
Thanks to the releases of Epoch's TV Tennis Electrotennis, and Nintendo's Color TV-Game 6 & Color TV-Game 15; a new form of home entertainment reached the families as well as a new word: TV geemu (TVゲーム).
Specifically used to classify a plethora of consoles such as Famicom, SNES, PC-Engine, Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation 4, and so on; now the game creation is more popular than film making and A LOT of videogames are more interesting than (m)any Hollywood movie. So, to homage the video game industry (and their creators); in 2010 Compile Heart together with Idea Factory released the first chapter of the beloved series Hyperdimension Neptunia.
While all have started as a video game for PS3; now it is an actual multimedia project which includes also anime, mobile apps, music albums, apparel, and many other side products that made it one of the most beloved IPs in every part of the planet.

Capcom recently released a five-minute trailer featuring a good recap of the story events leading up to the newest Raccoon City that we will be seeing in just a few weeks from now.
So, how about that? It seems like a good introduction for a beginner to the series, right? Although, the video includes some spoilers for Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 2.

As promised, the demo version of Resident Evil 3 Remake will be available on March 19, and that’s today! The demo for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC are now available in multiple regions.
So, if you want to step into the courageous boots of the legendary heroine of the series, Jill Valentine, go directly to your platforms’ store and download the Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo from there. Xbox Store for Xbox users, PlayStation Store for PS4 users and Steam for PC users.
Also, according to a tweet by @Wario64, Xbox One players can download the demo regardless of their region. Meanwhile, PS4 players need to create an account where the demo is currently available or just wait until it becomes available in their region.

The "Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo" lets players step into the boots of the legendary heroine Jill Valentine, as she teams up with Carlos Oliveira and the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.) to evacuate civilians from a crumbling Raccoon City. While Jill is fighting to save innocent civilians, she must also save herself from the relentless bioweapon Nemesis, whose sole objective is her demise. The Raccoon City Demo will reveal a brand new cinematic trailer exclusive to demo participants upon completion.
As if Jill's battle was not daunting enough, Capcom also invites players to test their limits with a challenging Mr. Charlie scavenger hunt within the "Raccoon City Demo." Twenty Mr. Charlie statues are strewn across Raccoon City; can you seek and destroy all of them with Nemesis hot on your heels? An on-screen counter will help players keep track of their acquired statues and a final count will be displayed upon the demo's completion.

This game follows the young man named Wander who is in the forbidden land. He must travel across the lands to defeat the massive beasts. You are only equipped with a sword and a bow. Last night, Sony took the opportunity to introduce PlayStation 5 to the world in a more detailed and in-depth discussion. The talk was called “The Road to PS5”, a deep dive presentation by PS5’s lead system architect Mark Cerny which was scheduled for Game Developers Conference 2020 (but due to coronavirus concern it was postponed).
Moreover, the presentation talks primarily about the hardware system's architecture and how PS5 was designed to benefit both developers and the games they create.
According to the summary published by the PlayStation Blog, some of the key components of the upcoming PS5 are the ultra-high-speed SSD, integrated custom I/O system, custom AMD GPU with ray tracing, and highly immersive 3D audio.
We also took some excerpts to help you understand the specification and hardware details better.
Ultra-high-speed SSD and Integrated custom I/O system
PS5's ultra-high-speed SSD and integrated custom I/O system was developed with the goal of removing barriers to play – specifically loading screens. Developers are able to stream assets into PS5 games at an incredibly fast rate, so PS5 play experiences can be seamless and dynamic, with near-instantaneous fast travel through large game worlds. This enhanced speed will enable game developers to create larger, richer worlds without traditional limitations, such as load times, and also allows gamers to spend more time gaming than waiting.
Custom AMD GPU
We also wanted to introduce new capabilities with PS5's custom GPU. Additional GPU power will allow for higher resolution in games, but a major new feature that benefits the visuals of games even further is ray tracing. Ray tracing simulates the way light moves in real life, and how it bounces off various surfaces. Games that take advantage of this feature will render objects much more accurately, and with heightened realism. Water, glass, light refraction, a character's hair and so on, will look even more realistic.
Highly immersive 3D audio
PS5 will also allow games to offer a much deeper sense of immersion through 3D audio. Visuals are of course imperative to the gaming experience, but we believe audio plays a crucial role as well. We wanted to deliver a compelling audio experience for all users, not just those who own high-end speaker systems. So we designed and built a custom engine for 3D audio that is equipped with the power and efficiency for ideal audio rendering. With 3D audio on PS5, the sounds you hear while playing will offer a greater sense of presence and locality. You'll be able to hear raindrops hitting different surfaces all around you, and you can hear and precisely locate where an enemy is lurking behind you. – PlayStation Blog

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Development Affected By COVID-19

As the negative effect of the pandemic outbreak of COVID-19 or also known as coronavirus, rises every single day worldwide, several gaming industries were also struck by it. One of which is the best crossover fighting game by Nintendo, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
According to a recent interview in Famitsu with the series’ director, Masahiro Sakurai said that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate might encounter a potential delay in the development of its Fighter Pass 2 due to COVID-19 concerns.
As per the director, originally, he had planned on doing a Nintendo Direct presentation to reveal the newest DLC character. However, since their developers are now working remotely as preventive measures for the outbreak, this has delayed the efforts to work smoothly on the supposed presentation.
So, that means, we can expect a longer timeline of the Fighter Pass’ 2 release from its previously planned end of 2021 launch. You can check out the highlights of the interview below translated by Siliconera.
- "My plans to present new fighter proposal(s) to publisher(s) have been delayed indefinitely as I haven't been able to meet up with those involved [in these circumstances]."
- "If any employees are found infected with the virus, the entire building is locked down, and game development will be completely halted."
- "Even if we are able to announce a new fighter, there is the possibility we are not able to work on development as scheduled."
- "The coronavirus has cast a large shadow over the game development industry. As time goes on, there may be announcements of game delays and cancellations, but there's nothing you can do about it. There's no way that the work meant to be put into the games will follow its original schedule."
