The King of Fighters XV features 39 characters including classic popular characters, resurrected fan favorites, and those crucial to the unfolding events. This is the first time the heroes from each saga have come together making this an unmissable moment in the King of Fighters storyline. The latest installment in the King of Fighters saga continues from the previous title's Story Mode. Heroes from the Orochi, NESTS, and Ash Sagas have all joined The King of Fighters XV, and this time, the story is coming to an explosive climax. – SNK

THE KING OF FIGHTERS—
Only the world’s toughest fighters can duke it out in the largest martial arts tournament in the world.

Though a mysterious being called Verse destroyed the KOF arena, its threat was quelled thanks to the brave efforts of the winning challengers.
Time has passed since the closing of that tumultuous tournament, and the next KOF begins, backed by a new sponsor.

Meanwhile, Chizuru Kagura senses something interfering with the seal of Orochi, otherwise known as Gaia’s Will.
She teams up with Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami to join the KOF and investigate.

Amidst these myriad motives, fighters resurrected after Verse’s defeat also join the fray.

The 1.1.0 update adds a bevy of new features including "Spirit Quests," a series of events and challenging requests for Olive Town experts featuring rewards such as new outfits, hairstyles, and farming abilities. Additionally, the six marriage candidates introduced in the paid downloadable content "Expansion Pass" can now attend Olive Town's four couples-centric festivals such as the Fireworks Display and the Snowshine Celebration.
