What have in common the Thucydides’ History of the Peloponnesian War and Albert Camus' The Plague? Despite many centuries separate them; both have written about the phenomena known as plague. Causing deeply emotive experiences such as religious hysteria and morality shocks; in the history of humankind, epidemics were seen as a punishment of the gods. To don't forget these traumatic events; through the millennia many writers developed a sort of "disaster narrative" that helped people to keep the memory alive; including a warning for the future generations, also in these hard times cursed by the Covid-19 pandemic, we can enjoy a vast number of tales created to exorcise the fear!

Also in the gaming industry, only a brilliant person like Yoko Taro could express the relationship between pestilential devastation and its effects on people involved in a new kind of trauma tale. Imagining a far-future tale in which Earth is nothing but a wasteland; he created an interactive nightmare in which we must help a young lady to survive finding a cure. For many reasons, Yoko Taro can't be considered a simple game director, but a contemporary philosopher that investigates human nature using video games. In his masterpieces NieR: Gestalt and NieR: Automata, he told very mature stories that melt catastrophe, eradication of the previous social fabric, and heroism in a so unthinkable way.

But that's not all about plague; in the first chapter, we can learn also more about his vision on gender-related issues. Inserting one of the few non-binary characters in the gaming industry (Kainé); we can learn how – sometimes – the life of minorities can be difficult. If you have played with NieR: Gestalt you will surely remember how Kainé has been ostracized by all the other inhabitants of the village, and how human nature could be cruel when experience something different from a so-called "normality”. With all these premises, we can undoubtfully consider NieR an actual masterpiece from many points of view. And we're so happy that from this Friday the remake of the Japanese only NieR Replicant will reach western shores with NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… for PlayStation 4 & Xbox One!

Released in two versions in April 2010 for PS3 and X360; NieR: Gestalt & NieR: Replicant are the two faces of the same coin. Production Exabilities has shared that Wing of Darkness has gone gold. Yes, you read it right! This 3D shooter game has completed its development and ready for its release this June.

Check out the developer’s Twitter post and confirm it yourself! Apart from the announcement, a short video was also posted.

The Western release of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster is coming real soon. With this, Atlus has dropped the new trailer for this game entitled Factions & Choices. Game Overview

This is the third installment to the franchise. It was first released for the PlayStation 2 in 2003 in Japan then followed by the director’s cut in 2004. The localization was released in 2004 and 2005 respectively.

This game follows a high school student in modern-day Tokyo. However, he goes into a world called Conception. He must survive the vortex world with the new powers vest upon him.

It's been 17 years since the original release of Shin Megami Tensei III, known in the U.S. as Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. Now, the apocalyptic legend returns in a full high-definition remake of the classic game, coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Spring 2021.

Atlus has also debuted the gameplay footage of this newly announced remake during the Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster Announcement Commemoration – Megami Tensei Live Stream.
